The other day we talked about some of the conditions and diseases that are associated with obesity. I know, it’s a rough thing to talk about. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t get talked about enough.

If you’ve ever watched The Biggest Loser, however, you know that all of these conditions are completely preventable, and even reversible! I mean, how many times on that show does someone come onto campus with diabetes and a million prescriptions? And then, a few months later, they are healthy, no diabetes, and off of all those prescriptions!

I’ve discovered, that with the Jen Fe patch I not only get help becoming healthy and losing weight, but I also get some much needed health benefits. While I’m working out and eating right, the Jen Fe patch also helps my body balance blood sugar levels, stimulates my body’s metabolism, and increases my adrenalin levels.

So, let’s continue that list we started at the beginning of the week. That depressing list of those conditions and diseases associated with obesity. I promise, this will be the last one. I just want everyone to know what I found out through my weight loss research, and how surprised I was at how sick I could truly become by simply being overweight.

“11. Urinary incontinence is the inability to control urination. It is frequently associated with obesity, weak bladder and pelvic floor muscles.

12. Chronic renal failure, meaning your kidneys fail to work, is a much greater risk to those who are overweight or obese.

13. Lymph edema is a condition that occurs from a damaged or dysfunctional lymphatic system, sometimes caused by people suffering from obesity actually crushing their own lymphatics.

14. Cellulitis is a spreading infection, involving both the dermis and subcutaneous skin tissues, resulting from poor lymph flow caused by obesity.

15. Stroke is caused by a lack of blood supply to your brain.

16. Pickwickian syndrome is characterized by sleep apnea resulting from obesity placing an excessive load on your pulmonary system.

17. Depression is a condition where a person feels miserable constantly, even to the point of being suicidal. It can be worse for someone who also has a weight problem.

18. Osteoarthritis is a clinical syndrome in which low-grade inflammation results in pain in your joints. It is caused by abnormal wearing of the cartilage, oftentimes due to obesity.

19. Gout occurs when uric acid accumulates in your blood. Nerve endings then become irritated, causing extreme pain, which is made worse by carrying extra weight.

20. Gallbladder disease commonly affects overweight people as a result of high blood cholesterol levels, which cause gall stones.

According to a Surgeon General report, obesity is responsible for 300,000 deaths every years in the United States.”

It’s pretty crazy stuff when you think about it. I honestly had no idea that all of the conditions could be prevented by just staying healthy. And it’s not even that hard to get started on the right track with the Jen Fe patch.

My Weight Loss Story

I was introduced to this product by a friend. At the time, I was in despair about my weight. I had lost 31 lbs prior to my bilateral total knee replacements and 20 lbs post surgery. My surgery date was 2/25/08.

In June 2008 I gained back 5 lbs at my daughter's wedding. In November, 2008 post-Thanksgiving I gained back an additional 31 lbs. By May, 2009 I was seriously thinking of traveling to Mexico for lapband surgery.

In August, I was introduced to the patch. I started on Sept 9, 2009 and my life hasn't been the same since. I have found that this a solution that requires time and patience. Everybody is different.

In 3 months I have lost 12 pounds, 30 inches and 12% body fat. I have gone down 2 sizes from a tight 24 (pants) to a 20 and from 3X to a well fitting 1X in tops. Best of all, my knees aren't as stiff and sore as they were post-surgery.
